Red Stag Hunting
Northern Patagonia, Argentina

Experience authentic Red Stag hunting in the mountains of Northern Patagonia, Argentina, guided by native outfitters whose team has spent more than 15 years pursuing mature stags across this remarkable landscape.

The Land

The Wild Heart of Northern Patagonia

Northern Patagonia is a land of cold mornings, shifting weather and rugged mountain terrain. During the roar, the valleys come alive with the sound of mature Red Stags calling through the mist and native forests.

Hunting here is never simply about reaching the mountains. It is about reading the wind, walking the terrain, waiting for the right moment and embracing whatever the Patagonian landscape brings.

From the first light of day to the last glow over the Andes, every hunt carries the possibility of finding the stag you've come for.

The Red Stag Experience

Red Stag hunting in Northern Patagonia is a true mountain experience. Cold mornings, dense lenga forests, changing winds and the unmistakable roar of mature stags turn every day in the field into a new challenge.

Spotting, reading the wind, moving through difficult terrain and knowing when to wait are all part of the hunt. In Patagonia, nothing is guaranteed — and that is what makes every encounter with a wild Red Stag so memorable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before travelling to Patagonia for your Red Stag hunting expedition.

Our standard expedition runs from Sunday to Saturday, including arrival, five full hunting days, and departure. We coordinate airport transfers, accommodation, hunting logistics and daily field operations throughout the expedition.

We operate across selected hunting grounds in Northern Patagonia, Argentina. Each expedition is planned according to the destination, hunting conditions and the experience best suited to the hunter.

Yes. Hunters are welcome to bring their own rifle. This requires the corresponding permits and authorizations to legally bring a firearm into Argentina, which involves additional paperwork and planning.

For those who prefer to avoid the bureaucracy, we also offer rifle rental. We take care of the necessary arrangements so you can arrive ready to hunt and focus on the expedition.

The Red Stag rut, locally known as the brama, runs from March 1 through late April. This is one of the most exciting times to experience Patagonia, when stags become vocal and the mountains come alive with the sound of the rut. Cold mornings, changing weather and the unmistakable roar of mature stags are all part of the experience.

Our all-inclusive programs are designed to take care of the essential logistics of the expedition, including accommodation, meals, professional guiding, transfers and hunting-related arrangements. Specific inclusions depend on the selected program.

Rahue House offers a comfortable lodge-based experience, combining mountain hunting with warm hospitality, regional cuisine and the comfort of returning to the lodge each evening. The Backcountry Experience takes you deeper into the mountains, with a more remote and immersive approach to Patagonia.

Once the hunt is completed, we coordinate the appropriate field preparation, documentation and export process required for the trophy to travel to the hunter's home country.

Patagonia is not a controlled or predictable hunting environment. Cold mornings, changing weather, rugged terrain, long walks and limited visibility are part of the experience. Every day brings a new opportunity, and success depends on patience, preparation and reading the mountain.
